My images appear as broken when I'm not signed in (Ploud6)

NOTE: This article only pertains to legacy Plinkit sites that have been imported into the Ploud Platform.

Your page may appear with broken images following migration to your new Ploud site.

A number of images on this site appear to be broken when viewing the page as an anonymous user.

This is a result of the folder they're in being Private. As such, when you're viewing the page as an anonymous user (i.e. not logged in), the images are restricted and show up as broken. Images and Files are two content item types which do not have their own publication states, so they rely on the state of their containing folder to determine whether a given user is allowed to view them.

To resolve this issue, there are two options:

1. Publish the folder in which the images currently reside.

2. Move the images into another folder which is public. For this, we have created an Images folder at [main site URL] /site-assets/images/.

In general when a user who is not logged in the website and cannot see the same conent you see when logged in. This could be an image, page, cover page the item is not published.
